Our Netcrawler modem allows you to access the internet through an optical fiber or coaxial cable. A WiFi router shares the internet from your modem to your computers, tablets, phones and gaming consoles. We recommend getting a WiFi router if you are sharing the internet across multiple devices.
Other internet providers may encourage customers to use a router-modem combo. While a combined modem and WiFi router can simplify installation and setup, this often comes at the expense of speed. The router component included in the combo units tend to have less power and fewer features than what a standalone router might have. One of the main drawbacks is that many router-modem combo units use a slower grade of Wi-Fi connectivity, which can significantly hinder the performance of your network. If you are experiencing issues with your internet connection, don’t hesitate to call us.
The location of your WiFi router is key to ensuring optimal network performance. Make sure to place your router in a central, elevated position, like a desktop or a shelf and to keep the space around it clutter-free. Avoid thick concrete walls, metal objects and HVAC equipment wherever possible as these can also reduce your WiFi coverage.
If Netcrawler Internet is not working, please try the following first before calling us.
- Remove the power to your Netcrawler Modem & Router.
- Wait 30 seconds then reconnect the power.
- Test your internet again to see if it works.
If your internet still does not work, please give us a call.
If your credit card is declined, we will notify you by phone or by email about the failed credit card payment. We will also make additional attempts to charge your card on later dates. If your payment remains unpaid for over 21 days, we’ll begin the process to cancel your service.
